Why can't I update the scanner in Device Manager?

Symptom:

You may attempt to update the scanner driver from within Device Manager but do not see an option to update.

Cause:

You don’t have necessary permission with your login to update drivers from within Device Manager.

Resolution:

You’ll need to be part of the Systems administrator group in order to have install, update or uninstall permission. Login as an Administrator in order to continue with updating your Scanner driver.
