Why is there a black line down the middle of the scan?
There is a black line down in the middle of the scan.
Your calibration files may be corrupted.
1. You will need to recalibrate your scanner. The calibration paper can be found in the box which come with your scanner. It is the paper with 2 black bars on one side and white on the other. You can either use ScanSharp or the TWAIN interface to calibrate the scanner.
2. If this problem persist, you may need to remove your calibration file. For the DocketPort models, the files are named Calibration.dat. When using Microsoft Windows XP the calibration files are located at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Syscan directory. You will need to remove this file and recalibrate the scanner.
For Vista and Windows 7:
The calibration file is located in C:\Program Data\Docucap (Or syscan) Locate the scanner folder and delete the "Calibration" file. Recalibrate. If Calibration continues to fail, Ensure that "Everyone" has "Full Control" rights over the entire Docucap (Or Syscan) folder.
